What a year it has been! Bitcoin Cash has a one year anniversary today! We’re throwing parties around the globe to commemorate the huge achievements of Bitcoin Cash on its first anniversary. Since last August, the peer-to-peer electronic cash has been adopted by millions of shoppers, developers, and merchants around the globe. It has garnered amazing exchange support with the development of new, innovative wallets and an entire Twitter community fan base that is well over 100,000 followers already. The Twitter-sphere constantly talks about the newest platforms, movements, meet-ups, and charities that are adopting Bitcoin cash. Huge events are happening weekly to promote it as the best way to do business.
Bitcoin Cash is Unstoppable
Bitcoin Cash is unstoppable! Merchants in cities and states around the world now accept BCH as a form of payment with an average of over 20,000 daily transactions. The digital migration is so profound, that Coinbase software engineer and P2P guru Josh Ellithorpe is convinced the future lies with Bitcoin Cash.
“In just one short year, BCH has grown by leaps and bounds,” says Ellithorpe. “It is supported at businesses all over the world, has amazing support, and many new innovative wallets have been developed. Now that the infrastructure has caught up to BTC, the real journey begins. It is time to onboard users all over the world to make p2p cash a reality in our daily lives!!”
Ways People Use Bitcoin Cash
Household Shopping & Luxury Goods
Shoppers love how easy Bitcoin Cash is to use. Savvy online retailers integrate it as an alternative to traditional currency. Here are a few examples:
Purse.io helps customers purchase on Amazon with a 15% discount just for spending their BCH.
Fancy.com, a social network and ecomm site, recently onboarded BCH.
Our very own Bitcoin Store leads the way by accepting Bitcoin Cash.Social Media
Social Media and Publishing Sites
Memo.cash and Yours.org allow users to tip each other in BCH for posts they like. The micropayment platform MoneyButton developed by economist Ryan Charles, can be added to sites that allow merchants to accept small payments of BCH instead of PayPal, bank transfers, or credit card payments.
Travel
Bitcoin Cash took the travel industry by storm this year with sites like Cheapair, Destinia, Travelbybit, and Cryptocribs making it their preferred currency. We’re confident it is just a matter of time until larger players in the travel industry adopt Bitcoin Cash as a universal payment option.
Bitcoin is Unaffected by Hyperinflation
Cryptocurrency is more secure. In many cases it is the only chance of survival for citizens in economically challenged countries like Venezuela. This is because Bitcoin Cash is never affected by hyperinflation like traditional currency. People don’t need to worry their money won’t buy a loaf of bread in the afternoon because digital currency maintains its value. It has become such a lifeline that charities worldwide are now being funded with Bitcoin Cash to help people around the globe. EatBCH started it off by accepting BCH donations for food in Venezuela. It was so successful there are now multiple ‘eatbchs’ worldwide.
Paying Friends Was Never More Convenient
No more cash transfers or cash are needed when you go out to dinner or coffee with a friend. With Bitcoin Cash, friends and family are instantly reimbursed with virtually no fees. It is simple to do – just scan a QR code.
Low-Fee, No-Fee International Money Transfers
International money transfers have never been easier or cheaper than with digital currency. You can send money home and know exactly what amount you are sending. Plus, there is no guessing game on how much your recipient will receive. You know immediately. It’s an instantaneous P2P payment solution that is hassle-free – many times without fees.
Bitcoin Builds Businesses
There are entire businesses being built solely on Bitcoin. In larger cities such as Tokyo and some states like New Hampshire , Bitcoin Cash is booming. That’s because it offers economic freedom unrivaled by traditional currency. Smaller merchants have built their customer base completely on digital transactions for services and products like coffee, yoga studios, hardware, lunch and beer. BCH is also supported by thousands more merchants worldwide because the currency is accepted by every business that partners with Bitpay. More than 2.5 million Bitcoin.com wallet apps have been downloaded by users around the world in just under a year. That’s the beginning of universal acceptance at its best!
Paying in #BCH is easy in Japan. https://t.co/8oLCStAsw8 team bonded over lunch at the cool ‘O’K, OK’, in Daikanyama. They quickly paid in BCH and even updated the restaurants sticker collection- featuring new designs by @corbinfraser ✌🏻#FridayFeeling #BitcoinCash #P2P pic.twitter.com/oWHvYVFVeU

How is Bitcoin Cash Different from the Old Bitcoin?
“Relentlessly pushing the vision of peer to peer cash for fast, cheap, reliable global transactions” -Gerald Fabrot, Business Development Manager, Bitcoin.com
Bitcoin Cash was born August 1, 2017 after Bitcoin broke into two very distinct groups with different views of what the digital currency should be. This means Bitcoin itself is not one, but two entirely different entities. These entities exist simultaneously – but for very different reasons. You can read more details about the transformation of Bitcoin before the fork here.
Bitcoin split into two different groups last year after the original version of Bitcoin had become a more cumbersome way of doing business, due to imposed limitations and restrictions placed on it as it grew. Bitcoin Cash more closely resembles the original Bitcoin developed in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system that allows for cheap money transfers, instant confirmations, worldwide compatibility, and no limitations on minimum or maximum transaction amounts. It is great for small business and individuals.
Bitcoin Cash does not have the fees and other obstacles that began to plague Bitcoin during its exponential growth.
It allows for small casual transactions with no middlemen needed.
The group that founded Bitcoin Cash felt the digital currency needed to revert to the original version that Nakamoto intended without barriers to entry such as fees and chain block limitations. Bitcoin Cash levels the playing field and makes small transactions like buying a cup of coffee economical. Prior to the Bitcoin division that small of a transaction had become way too expensive. Bitcoin Cash returns digital currency to the global marketplace the way our founder intended.
Bitcoin Cash is simply an upgraded, better version of BTC that works better for everybody. Small businesses and individuals can jump on board to use what is designed to be universal currency – open to everyone. Nakamoto’s intention has always been to revolutionize cash for the entire world that is spendable, free to transact with no banks, no high fees and no middlemen. Bitcoin Cash retains the store of value of the original Bitcoin. You can feel confident when we say Bitcoin Cash is Cash.

“For the planet to achieve personal economic freedom, is not only what propelled us into launching a new wallet right before the independence day, but also what keeps us wanting to improve this and so many other products, and heck, it also gives us the energy to dedicate our lives to this mission.”

Mining
Bitcoin.com Pool is proud to be part of history, as one of the first pools to mine Bitcoin Cash on the day of the hard fork (1st August 2017). We were also the first pool to offer Bitcoin Cash cloud mining contracts with auto-profit switching. We firmly support Satoshi’s vision of on-chain scaling, and Bitcoin Cash follows that vision.

Why is Bitcoin Cash Growing So Well?
We will admit it loudly. Without the Bitcoin Cash community, BCH would be just another cryptocurrency. The Bitcoin Cash community are major contributors to its success and adoption. Luckily for Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin.com, we are backed by economists, developers, digital evangelists, investors, celebrities, and everyday people who use Bitcoin Cash for good. They’re a warm and welcoming community, a driving force behind ‘the movement’. This is a global community of people all working to achieve freedom from the state, control over their own data, privacy and full ownership of their currency.
We need to thank everyone who has helped Bitcoin Cash grow so phenomenally in its first year. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Bitcoin Cash won’t continue to grow without your support. Bitcoin Cash Meetups are forming worldwide. The meetups have become places to socialise with like-minded people who spend Bitcoin Cash and learn more about the cryptocurrency space. We need your involvement to continue the momentum. Don’t forget the meet up to celebrate Bitcoin Cash’s birthday! The biggest one will take place in Tokyo August 1 at the super cool ‘Rakan.’ Check it out here.
The crypto-world moves fast. Who knows where BCH will be in another year. We can’t wait to see what happens. We’re hoping for full scale adoption of cryptocurrency and economic freedom for all.
